What is the best prescription acne treatment?

As my acne first started to appear, it was not as much. About 4 months ago I tried out Proactiv, which didnt work. About a day or two after I stopped using it, my acne started to disapear. Now its come back and its on my forehead and nose. My bangs can probably be the problem for acne on my forehead and near my sideburns. Also I have a few breakouts on my nose. Please help! What is the best prescription acne treatment?
Well I went to the dermatologist and I was prescribed Tretinoin. Its a form of retinol, it works great. You just apply a thin layer over your face before you go to sleep. It completely got rid of my acne within a month and has almost gotten rid of all my acne scars. I recommend it .What is the best prescription acne treatment?
Birth control pills. Oh wait, you're a guy. =D Probably antibiotics, tetracycline type. It helped me somewhat, although being on antibiotics long term has risks you shouldn't brush aside. There are topical antibiotics too. Retin-A works for some people, but it takes a long time and can have side effects. Never let anyone talk you into using Accutane unless you are suffering significant permanently disfiguring cystic acne. Accutane can do permanent organ and perhaps brain damage.

It sounds like you might not have given Proactiv enough of a chance? Not sure how long you used it, but you may need to let your skin adjust to the treatment for several weeks, I think. At first, it can be irritating and worsen acne. Just a little benzoyl peroxide to start, is better than a lot.
Proactiv does not work, sure it works for a couple of months and then it stops working, have you been to a dermatologist if not you should try going to one. Cleanser is important also mosturizer so your face doesn't dry out depending on how bad your acne is you might have to use perscriptions try Retna or Benzaclin maybe even both they are both perscriptions so you would have to get a perscription from either a doctor/pediatrician or a dermatologist they are not over the counter drugs in the mean time try washing your face with Neutrogena, Clean %26amp;Clear, Purpose or something like that
There are certain vitamin c tablets and cream you can get from your GP. However these only try to reduce the acne until you naturally grow out of it.

There is a cure for acne which you can get if you are not happy with the results of any creams which your GP can prescribe. This will completely clear you acne but it may have certain side sffects.
Retin A Micro works for a lot of people....I would jsut try some over the counter stuff before wasting time %26amp; money getting prescriptions %26amp; all that other stuff!
ill ugg much !
