Acne prescription-tetracycline?

My doctor prescribed me tetracycline for acne.

I got 250mg pills for twice a day.

but it seems like that's too big of a dosage because i was taking minocycline, 100mg once a day (which worked pretty well)

Has anyone tried tetraycline and what was your dosage?Acne prescription-tetracycline?
Sounds like you might actually be on a low dose of Tetracycline . . .

The usual dose of Tetracycline is 1000mg/day in divided dosage and should be taken with an empty stomach. Milk and dairy products should be avoided. Side effects include GI upset, drug eruption (especially fixed drug eruption). This group of antibiotic is absolutely contraindicated in pregnancy and extra caution should be taken in prescribing it to young female patients.Acne prescription-tetracycline?
I hate the thought of taking an oral prescription that affects the whole body just to clear the face.

Sorry, just my experience with family members ending up with severe health problems from long term use.

Antibiotics kill the good and bad bacteria. Your digestive system will hate you for it.

Please consider researching alternate methods to clear your skin. good luck
Every antibiotic is made differently, so you can't compare the dose from one to the other. This is an average dose for acne treatment. Minocycline is different then tetracycline even though they are both antibiotics. Different meds, different chemicals, make different doses.
Look into this website, they have some excellent treatments for your problem -
