What is the best moisturizer to use that won't cause my acne to get worse? My skin looks so bad when I put makeup on, and sometimes hurts to touch after I wash it.I have acne and am on a prescription for it, but it is making my skin severly dry.?
You should call a pharmacist and ask them. I don't know what chemicals are in your acne medicine, so I wouldn't want you to mix it with something that could really hurt you. Almost all acne medications dry the skin out severely and it sucks! I wish you luck!I have acne and am on a prescription for it, but it is making my skin severly dry.?
well first did u tell ur precrisptionest? and if its damaging ur skin u should get rid of it right away! u should try pro-active...its works.I have experienced it and it works...it just depends on u if u can do it daily. Ask ur doctor about this and of couse what is happening to u right know. : )
Well, i have the same problem. If you're using salycilic acid-based acne treatment (includes most acne wipes and neutragena liquid face was), i recommend Jergens lotion with Aloe. It's not greasy, and it works great because it makes you face smoother and relieves that terrible itchiness that comes with salycilic acid.
P.S. Dryness tends to be intensified when you use excess amounts of salycilic acid-based products. i suggest using wipes in the morning and night. if you get sweaty during the day wash your face with water to get the sweat off. that night take a shower and use face wash instead of wipes. DON'T USE BOTH.
P.P.S - sorry for rambling. :)
I put the tiniest bit of coconut oil on my face twice a day and it's cleared up the acne I used to have on my chin.
I use the Extra Virgin coconut oil. There are a lot of different brands. I just use the cheapest stuff I can find since I don't eat it.
Don't put make up on it! First, your acne medication is too strong and you should probably ask for one for sensitive skin. Second, Arachidyle in some make up and beauty products cause acne.
Third, if your skin is that bad, you can also try any facial moisturizer, but avoid those containing alcohol.
Finally, if it persists or worsens, see a dermatologist

same kinda of thing has happened to me and it turned out you can get excema from certain things like that.
what is the prescription? if it is a topical, use it only every other day until your skin adjusts to it. also, use lots of moisturizer. cetaphil is good. if it is severely dry, use vaseline. if the medication is accutane, still take it every day, just apply a ton of moisturizer. there is not much you can do about the dryness from accutane besides moisturizing.
It is supposed to dry out the oil, but perhaps the medication is too strong or you are using too much. Check with the dermatologist to get the right balance- your skin shouldn't be severely dry.
Try something like Oil of Olay or Neutrogena. You may also want to contact your doctor and tell him that you are having a problem with your skin being terribly dry....he may want to adjust your dosage.
Stop using the medication, do not put on makeup for awhile because your irritating it real bad. Go the doctor that you went and explain to him or her that it is making your skin dry...
