Is there a strict diet im supposed to follow or the amount of sleep i get? What are some good ways to get rid of acne other than over the counter drugs an prescription.?
It depends on the cause of your acne. If the cause is hormonal, then no amount of home remedies will help you- you need to fix the cause.
However, getting enough sleep, drinking lots of water, etc, is all a good idea for good skin health.
Tips:
* Make sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water a day
* Don't eat a lot of sugar and DO NOT drink soft drinks- soft drinks are the devil if you are trying to look after your skin
* Get 8 hours of sleep a night
* Eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables
* Take a good multivitamin and a vitamin C supplement daily - vitamin C flushes toxins from the body and is therefore very good for your skin
* Wash your face twice a day using a proper face wash designed for your skin type and MOISTURISE! Even if you have an oily skin, find a cream suited to your skin type
* Avoid touching your face - you touch all kinds of stuff during the day and if you rub your skin, or touch your face, you risk transferring germs to your skin which can cause pimples and infections. What are some good ways to get rid of acne other than over the counter drugs an prescription.?
You can do the following:
* Squeeze garlic and apply the juice to the affected area
* Make a paste from cucumbers and apply to the acne
* Rub mint oil or juice
* Honey has a natural antimicrobial action and has been used among the natural cures for acne for a long time.
* Some of the more modern of the natural ways to get rid of acne are toothpaste or oatmeal bath treatment, mixed into a paste and applied to the affected areas.

Detoxification! The fastest and arguably most efficient way to get rid of acne for good is detoxification.
Acne is an internal problem that translates into skin inflammations and eruptions in the form of acne. This is why skin treatments are not the best solution for acne, but natural remedies can be. I would recommend eating lots of fruit and drinking lots of water.
However, It has been widely reported that ';apple-fasting'; (a detox method) is the fastest natural way to cure acne. Many of my readers have reported their acne clearing up in just days while apple-fasting. And unlike other treatments, acne is unlikely to return once the body has been completely detoxified. One of my readers was so impressed with one of the popular apple-fast acne solutions that he wrote about his experiences below. If you've got time, take a look...

It really depends on the type of skin you have and what is causing your acne breakouts. There are a dozen treatments that promise the world but are really disappointing. Your best bet is to ask your dermatologist as they will know more about your specific condition.
I learned a lot about acne and actually found a way to get rid of it quickly from this squidoo lens:
Just wash your face two or three times a day, make sure your towel is super clean. Change your pillowcase often. Don't comb your hair toward your face, and if you have dandruff use dandruff shampoo. Don't put oily things on your skin. Don't eat oily food.
And use good over the counter acne medication.
u may follow this or not....
u need to cut down the amount of oil in ur food, bakery products and any drink that is carbonated(the gas) ... sleep in the range of 6 to 7 hours... i've heard people saying that changing pillows is effectiv but i don kno bout that... if ur acne is bad dont hesitate, go to a dermatologist. the dermatologist can see wat type of acne u hav %26amp; tell u the perfect medicine or gel or wateva... dyu think that the ads on t.v can tell u that u need to do this or do that??? n e ways ...... i hope u get rid of ur acne!!! so long!
Hey, hot bath is pretty good. I had bubble bath for one hour last week and after that my skin was smooth and reflection was good as well. It lasted only a day or two, so you'd better keep taking spa baths regularly.
good luck,
Justin
