Obviously, all pills will have side-effects but some have less than others.
The most common pill you can get is an antibiotic. Because Acne is an infection in your skin, antibiotics work to kill the bacteria inside your skin in hopes of clearing it up.
Antibiotics have limited success and will stop working altogether if you take them for a long time - this is bad, because it basically means you can never use that antibiotic for any other reason again.
Different antibiotics have their own individual side effects.
A common and more powerful medication is Roaccutane, this works by shrinking your sebaceous glands and stopping most of the oil production in your body. This causes bad side effects such as hair loss and liver damage (they both need oil to stay healthy remember!) and excessive skin dryness (cracking lips and flaking skin). It has also been reported to cause depression.
A third alternative is taking vitamins %26amp; supplements, these aren't exactly Acne pills but you will find that taking good Zinc and Vitamin B supplements will greatly benefit skin and therefore help Acne clear up.
Hope this helps! Is there any prescription acne pills with no side effects?
This is not a prescription, so no side effects. Helps anti-oxidize and give you the proper vitamins. I did see on Rachael Ray that a dermatologist said that one of the best remedies is the proper vitamins to balance out your hormones. Here is a link for one that is supposed to be really good. http://www.acnezine.com/?aid=434528 Proactiv works, too, but can dry out your skin.Is there any prescription acne pills with no side effects?
